Kylemore Communities
Kylemore Communities

A vision of success.

Sixty years ago, Arthur Stollery had a vision for his farm property where Angus Glen Golf Club and the surrounding community are now located. Today, his seven granddaughters are continuing his legacy. Sisters Cailey and Lindsay Stollery reflect on what the past 20 years’ success of Angus Glen Developments Kylemore Communities would mean to him and their late father, Gordon.

Stollery family legacy growing with Markham.

I recall years ago, our grandfather (Arthur Stollery) took me into the pastures for horses and cattle and asked me, “What would you think if I built a golf course here?” Years later, my father and his sister, Laurie, embraced Arthur’s vision, taking it further by planning the community that would become Angus Glen. I have been involved with Angus Glen and Kylemore since 1997.

As female business owners, one of our greatest strengths is consensus seeking. Our team members own their jobs, which provides an opportunity to grow and learn, and we take pride in their efforts. We instill in them our values of loyalty, integrity, passion, equality and fun. We’ve assembled a Kylemore team that consistently demonstrates a passion for the industry and the communities we build.

We are excited to have three major projects coming up: the Angus Glen North Lands assembled primarily by Arthur; Langstaff Gateway by Gordon; and York Downs, the first we seven Stollery sisters have been involved in. Our father and grandfather would be proud of how we work together, our focus on creating the right working environment, and our emphasis on building and sustaining great teams. We will continue to create communities that are livable, beautiful and a lasting legacy to our family.

Over the past 20 years, Kylemore/Angus Glen Developments has been an integral part of the growth and development of Markham. I’m sure our father and grandfather would be amazed at how our land and these companies evolved over the years, and how the community has thrived. Our father’s long-term vision is coming to fruition, and owning the York Downs lands that are contiguous to Angus Glen would make him smile, to see it all come together.

We come from a line of entrepreneurial men who had great foresight in all of their businesses. We engage in similar long-term visioning as it relates to creating best-inclass products and planning our lands in a way that allows for better communities. This industry is historically male dominated, but we believe that it is changing, and we are happy to be a big part of that change.

Our father would be very proud that we sisters work together as a team. Our ability to develop the lands with patience and foresight for future generations is something he ingrained in us, and he would be happy to see us continue with his vision.
