Kylemore Communities and Katlin Group present a $10,000 check to the Sesquicentennial committee for Newcastle's 150th birthday celebration that takes place on July 1. From left to right: Councilor Gord Robinson; Bill Daniell, president of Katlin Homes; Mayor of Newcastle John Mutton; Patrick O'Hanlon, president of Kylemore Communities; and Rod MacArthur, local co-chair for the Newcastle Sesquicentennial committee.
Patrick O’Hanlon is a great believer in resort-style living. He also understands the value of creating true communities.
Both are readily apparent at Kylemore Communities’ new Port Of Newcastle project.
This community is the perfect answer for anyone who enjoys life on the lake and it offers all the benefits of a resort, from beaches to a spectacular club house, says O’Hanlon, Kylemore President.
At the same time, it is within easy commute of Toronto; close to the big city but not of the big city.
O’Hanlon and Newcastle Mayor John Mutton cut the ribbon to officially launch the striking new community and were joined by Minister Bev Oda, the new federal Heritage Minister, John O’Toole, MPP for Newcastle and Councillor Gord Robinson.
In addition, Kylemore Homes together with Kaitlin Homes announced that they will be sponsoring the Newcastle Sesquicentennial to mark the 150th birthday of the Town of Newcastle which will be taking place over the weekend of July 1. O’Hanlon joined with Bill Daniell, president of Kaitlin Homes, to present a cheque for the sponsorship to event Co-chair Rod MacArthur and Ann-Marie Harley, director of Marketing for the Sesquicentennial.

Kylemore Homes teamed up with Eli Yerushalmi and Coby Rabin from The Brick Furniture Store to introduce a program where the first 10 buyers at their Port of Newcastle community will each receive a cheque for $10,000 to be redeemed at the Brick to furnish their new home.
Kylemore’s Port of Newcastle will be part of an already thriving community of new homes that sits on the shores
of Lake Ontario in historic Newcastle, just east of Bowmanville, 45 minutes drive from the heart of Toronto.
The community offers residents all the advantages of cottage
life at home with all the amenities of a cottage within
steps of their front door. Its focus is on move-up buyers
and empty-nesters, families who want a relaxed, close-tonature
lifestyle for the children or a carefree escape from
the hurly burly of major urban centres.
Kylemore’s dedication to that resort lifestyle comes through in the six new designs just released. They include bungalows and two-storey homes ranging in size from 1,300 to 4,050 sq. ft. All boast the elegance nine-ft. ceilings with large windows, welcoming the spectacular views.
Various designs offer two car garages large enough for boat storage and added touches such as butler’s pantries. Floor plans are superb, with spacious open-concept designs combining both the need for functionality with imaginative flare. Attention to detail is the norm incorporating many of the little touches that matter such as balconies that extend the view of the lake and outdoor space. The exteriors gleam in brick, stone and vinyl siding and the steep rooflines give comfort to the eyes and hint at the warmth that lies within.
One of the highlights of Kylemore homes are there designer-ready feel and purchasers ability to personalize the interior of the home to suit their specific lifestyle.
The community of the Port of Newcastle already has a splendid boating marina with canoes and paddleboats, a restaurant, tennis courts, walking trails and a range of parks and beaches. The clubhouse is scheduled for completion next summer and will offer residents a year-round swimming pool plus exercise rooms.
Perhaps best of all are the supremely affordable prices. Those start as low as $245,990.
“The Port of Newcastle is above all a community designed with its residents in mind,” says O’Hanlon. “We know the pressures of city life have created an enormous demand for communities that offer a chance to return to the more relaxed way of life associated with small towns.
“Newcastle is a treasure. That is why we are building here. At the same time we wanted to offer a lifestyle that captured all of the elements found in resorts. There is a lot more to life than sitting in your living room or lounging in your backyard.”
The Port of Newcastle offers all those prized extras, the lake, a clubhouse, sports and an old Ontario town to explore and enjoy.
